Mar. 2nd, 2006 04:37 pmHere is the thing that I have been working on at uni for the last two or three weeks. It looks better than I feared: always a good thing. Our brief for this project was to produce something using the R.T. blanking system and to colour it by anodising.
My riveting is awful. The photos don't show the true horror.
( Aluminium Spine.. )
I plan never to anodise anything again. It's incredibly frustrating, because if it doesn't work (which is often) it's very hard to work out what you did that was wrong. I anodised two pieces at the same time, only one of which took the dye well. I have no idea what went wrong. I quite like the effects that can be acheived, particularly with photocopies (the writing that is on one of the pieces was from a photocopy of my friend's handwriting) but I think I'll leave the process to people who enjoy it.
